Dr. Steven A. Smith MD, F.A.C.P. and The
Search For A Cure For Psoriasis
When Dr. Smith began practicing medicine, he developed a special
interest in psoriasis. Dr. Smith observed that there were many different psoriasis
treatments that were expensive, time consuming, or that had troublesome side-effects.
Additionally, a treatment that worked for one patient would have no effect on another. He
began searching for a better, side-effect free treatment for psoriasis. As a result of
divine inspiration, Dr. Smith began to investigate the use of nickel and bromide in the
treatment of psoriasis and other diseases with similar pathogenesis. As Dr. Smith searched
the scientific and medical literature, he found an abundance of articles on nickel or
bromide, but not on the combination of both minerals in the treatment of psoriasis.
Further scientific research would lead him to the development of the patented use of low
dose nickel and bromide compounds for the treatment of psoriasis. Its effectiveness was
demonstrated through the treatment of patients in his clinic and the completion of a
placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial in 1992, which was published in Archives
of Dermatology, May 1997.
