Don't Lose Your Peace to Satan

In Psalm 85:1-8, David ask God of extending his blessings to us and to save from his anger for our sins as we mend our ways.

Oh revive us! Then your people can rejoice in you again. (Psalm 85:6)

When we pay the price for our sinful ways and repent for our sins and turns away from our sins, God will revive us and make us happy again.

The joy of the Lord provides us strength to turn away from the temptations of the devil and to say No to sinful ways as Nehmiah 8:10 indicates:

Joy of the Lord is your strength. You must not be dejected or sad.

In God, we have joy. If we go with satan, we will lose our peace.

So, what should we do? Don't do anything the God has asked specifically not to do. Those deeds are poison. They may look good on the outside. They are, traps set by devil to lure us and will kill us if we fall for them.

In the beginning, everything was good, as we read in the beginning of genesis. The satan came to this world and started to set traps for us to lure us to him. So, God has found it necessary to set some limits and to advice of those land mines. We see that God has given us the first set of "Don't Do" items by the Ten Commandments.

The characteristic of satan is that he comes and lure us with everyday things, things which are very attractive to us and things we have a hard time to say no. When we look at these things they don't "look" evil. Jesus warned us about these traps in Mathew 7:21

Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as "Lord", but still won't get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my father in heaven.

So, satan appears like ordinary persons, even religious persons. This is how he is so effective in setting up the trap.

In Psalm 49:14, we see that "Death is the shepherd of all mankind. The power of wealth is gone when they (evil persons) die; they can not take it with them. But as for me, the God shall redeem my soul from the power of death, for he will receive me."

The key is to live in such a way that we won't die; but will enter into eternal life with God.
