Introduction: Holy Spirit Teaches All Anointed Christians
To begin with, Rembachen reminded us that as we are the anointed Christians we do not need anyone to teach us us about God. According to the bible, the Holy Spirit teaches all those who are anointed.
Retreat is not a study; we need to experience it.
In order to know a person well, we need to experience with all five senses. Theses senses are:
All these senses have to be involved when we experience God. The ultimate step is in tasting him.
The first step is in seeing God. Science tells us that light travels faster than sound. As we see lightening, before we hear the thunder, we will see God before we will hear him.
The irony of the situation is that once we taste God, we cannot see God. That is because, when we taste something it is already in us. It is the ultimate union.
Many of us may be living in various states of this experience. For example, how long you had been hearing about Jesus and hasn't done anything about it?
How long this has to continue before we decide the ultimate step to experience Him?
What are stopping you from doing this? There are many obstacles. We will examine these obstacles and learn how we can overcome these obstacles.
Language Barrier: Holy Spirit Talks To Us Through Those Around Us
Only Holy Spirit knows your language. I do not know. Your spouse does not know. Your parish priest does not know. It is the exclusive territory of the Holy Spirit to interpret your unique language.
Now here is one challenge. Holy Spirit does not talk to you directly. It is done through others. We have to be on constant alert to get these messages. When you are in a group, the other group members may be saying something that is a message of the Holy Spirit. So, to have a successful retreat and to interpret what Holy Spirit is trying to communicate to us, we need to LISTEN to others.
We need to learn from our children, our spouses and others. We can hear God through these people. The bible says that God even talked though a donkey.
