Retreat Helps Us To Prepare
Retreat means a withdrawal before an advancement. It came from the ancient war strategists. When the troop had been fighting war in the frontlines, and they are tired, the commander will order a retreat. This means that go back to the base camp where they can rest, tune-up and refill their rifles and cannons. They will get thorough reinvigoration so that when they go back to fight in the front line, they will be ready to fight the enemy with a newly found energy and strength.
This is what retreat does precisely to us. It allows us to get away from our daily routines; spend time time re-examining our relationship with God and to fellow human beings. We are the privileged few who got an opportunity to attend a retreat. Like that 74 people who saw God, let us see God today in our retreat.
Let us pray that we can see God. We need to ask. We have to be specific in what we ask for. We need to thank God that we got an opportunity to seek Him.
God sees everything we do. He knows what we have in our mind or inside us. We cannot hide from Him. We need to confess our sins. We have to be ready to forgive others who have done us wrong before we can see and ultimately taste God.
