The Feast of Mor Gregorios of Parumalaby Fr. Dr. George Pavu Pulikkottil, Oak Park, IL Introductory prayer: O Lord, our God, make us worthy to honour and celebrate the day of remembrance of our holy father, Mar Gregorios of Parumala. You have called and appointed him as the shepherd of your flock. He has followed all your commandments and led a noble and holy life that was pleasing to you. After teaching and guiding the believers in the true faith, he has departed from this world and is interceding for all of us. O Lord, give us your grace to follow his footsteps. We offer you praise and thanksgiving, now and always for ever and ever. Amen. Litany:
Our spiritual father, Mor Gregorios of Parumala,
One who has been chosen and set apart from childhood for the service of the Lord,
One who has led a holy and virtuous life,
One who has pleased the Lord by his spiritual life,
One who has enlightened the flock of the Lord by his spiritual instructions,
One who has defended the true faith of the Church and brought back the
One who has guided the faithful and led them in the right direction,
One who has served faithfully in the spiritual vineyard of the Lord,
One who has been a loving high-priest and an able administrator of the
One who has used the God given talents for the benefit of the Church,
One who has experienced the love of God and shared that love with others
One who has been blessed by God for leading a holy life,
One who has renounced the worldly luxuries to follow the heavenly life,
One who has been an example of leading a true Christian life,
One who has been a great teacher, a guide and a mentor to his disciples,
One who has offered spiritual services and blessed the faithful,
One who has been considered a holy man of God while he was still alive,
One who has been appointed an intercessor after he departed from this world,
One who has performed many miracles by the grace of God,
One who has been a faithful high priest who spread the gospel of our Lord,
One who has been guided by the Holy Spirit, Prayer of conclusion: Glory be to the Father who chose you from the beginning. Adoration to the Son who set you up as a hero in his Church. Thanksgiving to the Spirit of wisdom who indwelled in you and guided you. May your prayer be with us. |
